(b. 1996, Iran) grew up in Zanjan, Iran, studied BA in architecture at Azad University, and got his MFA in Painting at Boston University. Shayan has been influenced by Hegelian philosophy, the French new wave, socio-political conflicts, and psychology. More recently, his expansive interests in the turmoil of social conditions and political landscapes continue to expand his interdisciplinary research and practice through painting, video art, and photography. Shayan's practice strives to be human-centric. He seeks to create perspectives and lenses that shine a light on issues that are universal.
